Find Out the New Luxury Maldives Resort
A luxury hotel in the Maldives offers tailor-made experiences to forget about the world. Vakkaru Maldives is the ideal place to get away from it all and the fully personalized Ultimate Castaway experience might even make you spend the best moments of your life.
Vakkaru Maldives Private Island
A lush tropical island with 2,300 coconut palms, soft white sand beaches, shallow turquoise lagoons, a coral reef home, and three blue holes nearby – it sounds almost perfect, doesn’t it?
Add to that luxury accommodation in 113 suites and you have Vakkaru Maldives, the luxury private island resort that opened in December 2017.Enjoy the view by looking at some of the most spectacular scenery in the world – the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll in the Republic of Maldives.
Take a dip in your private pool, rock in your hammock, take a nap on your sun lounger or stretch on your yoga mat. Your butler will take care of everything your iPad can’t (the tablet can adjust the lighting, close the curtains, and even open the front door).
Dining on the island is at five open-air restaurants – with private dining, including on a remote sandbar, also available. Vakkaru Maldives also has two bars and a wine cellar. You will experience flavors and dishes from all over the world, including from Italy, Southeast Asia, and of course the Maldives. Products from the organic farm on the island of Vakkaru Maldives are highlighted.
Ayurvedic Therapies in Resort
Pretending the rest of the world doesn’t exist is easy at the Vakkaru Maldives overwater wellness center. Indulge in Ayurvedic therapies in the sauna, hot tub, steam room, and cold pool, or just enjoy the spectacular views of the lagoon.
You can also book yoga, meditation, and sound healing therapies. Book a massage, though it’s hard to decide whether to close your eyes or look through the glass floor at the lagoon below you.
If you need to keep busy, there’s snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, windsurfing, parasailing, fishing, and more. How about sailing across the Indian Ocean with a pod of dolphins by your side? If you prefer to stay on land, there are tennis and indoor activities, and the size of Vakkaru Maldives’ lush private island is ideal for a coconut tree walk or a bike ride along palm-shaded paths.
It’s a personalized experience, tailored to exactly what you want, and takes place on a pristine sandbar in the Indian Ocean. Maybe you want a romantic barefoot dinner for two, or maybe a party with a DJ. A bonfire night just for your family under the stars or a private yoga class on your little island. If you can dream it, Vakkaru Maldives wants to help you make it come true.
After arriving at Malé Velana International Airport, you will arrive at Vakkaru Maldives after a 30-minute seaplane journey northwest of the airport. For those arriving after dark, you can take a 20-minute domestic flight to Baa Atoll (Dharavandhoo) and then a 30-minute speedboat ride to the resort.
The resort has a private lounge in the seaplane terminal to wait for your flight. Once you lay eyes on the lush Vakkaru Maldives, you’ll understand its name. The island is a former coconut plantation – “vakkaru” means “coconut” in Dhivehi, the national language of the Maldives.
English is widely spoken across the country of 1,192 islands, and employees at Vakkaru Maldives speak about a dozen different languages. Surrounded by a white sand beach, the island of Vakkaru Maldives is covered in coconut trees.
Travel to the Maldives
Visas on arrival are available to all tourists (as are visa extensions if you decide that 30 days of island privacy is not enough).
To enter the Maldives, you currently need to submit a Traveler Health Declaration 24 hours prior to travel, as well as provide certification of a negative PCR test performed within 96 hours of departure to the Maldives.
Once you arrive at Vakkaru Maldives, you will receive a free quick test to further ensure that neither you nor your family or friends are sick.
