What’s New from Central Florida
Peppa Pig Theme Park arrives in Florida in February at Legoland Florida Resort.
Seaworld Orlando announces its new “Ice Breaker” roller coaster, opening in February.
Aquatica Orlando, at Seaworld Orlando, opens in March an all-new waterslide, the Reef Plunge.
On March 1, Walt Disney World Resort opens Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, its themed hotel inspired by the franchise’s star cruiser Halcyon.
Also this year there will be the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, at EPCOT, which explores the mysteries of Earth and the planet Xandar and will feature a roller coaster that rotates 360º.
Iron Gwazi arrives at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay in March, with the tallest hybrid roller coaster in North America: it will be more than 200-feet high, reaching a top speed of 75 miles per hour.
Finally, the Kennedy Space Center will gain the new Gateway attraction in March: The Deep Space Launch Complex, which will examine the present and future of space exploration with immersive classes and atmosphere in a 4D cinema.
News in the North and South Region
The Max Beach Resort in Daytona Beach will open in 2022 with 12 floors and condominium-style suites, with options for one, two and three bedrooms, equipped kitchens and private outdoor living areas.
Meanwhile, in South Florida, on Singer Island, Amrit Ocean Resort & Residences arrives with two property towers “Peace” and “Happiness” with 155 rooms and residential with 182 apartments.
Celebrations
Walt Disney Resort announces its 50th anniversary celebrations with the “World’s Most Magical Celebration”: the event will last 18 months. This can be one of the main attractions on your trip to Florida in 2022.
Elvis Presley will also win a tribute in the city of Inverness for ELVIS: The Summer Festival, taking place June 22-26 at Citrus County Auditorium.
Everglades National Park will also celebrate its anniversary: 75 years of existence, with special programming at the Flamingo Lodge & Restaurant in its 24 chalets, with options for one or two bedrooms.
Formerly known as the Boca Raton Resort and Club, The Boca Raton will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a $175 million renovation focused on modernizing accommodations and offering new experiences and activities to guests.
Finally, the city of Jacksonville celebrates its bicentennial in 2022 with events across the city: the anniversary date is June 15th, but the opening took place on January 24th when the MOSH (Museum of Science & History) opened the Bold City Bicentennial exhibition.
