The entrance most itineraries still name for the village’s shopping centre closed in February 2026. Local knowledge here has a date on it, and last year’s version is wrong.

In short

Send the tail number, the FBO and the property. Dispatch tracks the flight, positions the vehicle at Signature Aviation MIA or the airport’s general aviation facility before the aircraft blocks in, and uses the current access arrangement at the far end — which for the village’s shopping centre now means the second level of the 96th Street garage. A flat, written quote comes back in under 10 minutes.

Twelve Blocks Where the Details Keep Moving

Bal Harbour is small enough to walk end to end, which makes people assume the driving is trivial. What is not trivial is that the access arrangements changed this year.

  • The shopping centre’s vehicle entrance closed. The Collins Avenue entrance has been shut since February 2026 for the expansion works.
  • Car service now uses the garage level. Drop-off and pickup run from the second level of the 96th Street garage, with an alternate further north.
  • One landmark resort is dark until 2027. It still appears on itineraries; it is closed for renovation and not due to reopen until January.

Choosing the approach by the clock, not the toll

The short way from the expressway crosses a tolled causeway that is also a drawbridge, opening twice an hour between eight and six. The longer way comes north along the ocean road from a fixed crossing.

For a timed arrival the longer route frequently wins, and the decision is made during the descent rather than at the toll gantry.

The set-down is the whole job here

Between the village resort, the shopping centre and the smaller hotels, this is a district of short distances and difficult stopping. The ocean road narrows and one junction absorbs everything.

Our arrival plans name the garage level or the motor court, not just the street address.

Bags off the ramp, once

On the ramp the luggage goes straight from the hold to the vehicle, handled a single time between the aircraft and the property door.

On a route ending in a garage rather than a forecourt, handling it once instead of three times is most of the difference.

When twelve blocks stop being twelve blocks

The village runs its own programme during the big weeks rather than simply absorbing overflow, so it fills from both directions at once.

  • Miami Art Week, late November into December. Village installations alongside the shopping centre’s retail peak.
  • Holiday season, November and December. Compounded this year by the closed entrance and the live expansion works.
  • Boat Show week, February. Loads the Collins corridor south of the village and every approach that feeds it.

During those weeks we fix the set-down before you land and, where it is faster, walk the last stretch with the luggage. That is agreed beforehand, not improvised at a closed gate.

How the Arrival Actually Works

Knowledge With an Expiry Date

Most of what makes a ground provider useful in this village is not driving skill. It is knowing what changed since the last visit, and being willing to check.

Access arrangements are reconfirmed, not remembered

An entrance closes, a garage level becomes the pickup zone, a resort goes dark for eighteen months. None of that is visible from a map and all of it is checkable by the client.

We reconfirm with the properties rather than trusting last season’s arrangement, and we tell you at booking when something on your itinerary has moved.

One booking covering both ends

The ramp side and the village side fail in completely different ways, and splitting them across two providers means neither owns the handover.

One assignment, one desk, one price agreed in advance. If the aircraft is late, the village end already knows.

Fleet and Cabin

On a private arrival the hold decides the vehicle, and here the garage clearance decides it again. Executive SUV, Luxury Sedan and Sprinter Van run off the same dispatch board, so the sizing can change up to the day.

Vehicle Passengers Luggage Best suited for
Luxury Sedan Up to 3 2 large, 2 carry-on Light jet arrival; fits every village access point
Executive SUV Up to 6 5 large Midsize arrival with checked bags for a resort stay
Sprinter Van Up to 12 12 large Heavy jet cabin; garage clearance confirmed in advance

Send the aircraft type and the property — dispatch sizes for the hold, confirms the current access point and returns the price in under 10 minutes.

Cabins run with bottled water, charging for both connector types and climate set before the aircraft lands. Where a taller vehicle cannot use the garage level, the set-down moves rather than the vehicle being downgraded on the day.

Why Mundi

Operational Certainty

Six things that decide whether a private arrival into the village goes cleanly.

Current access point confirmed per property, not last season’s

Approach chosen against the causeway’s opening schedule, not its toll

Booking held against the tail number, not a clock time

Luggage loaded on the ramp, never carried through a building

Itinerary checked against properties that are actually open

Flat rate in writing beforehand — no surge, no meter

Logistics FAQ

Questions We Get Most

Where will we be dropped at the shopping centre?

At the second level of the 96th Street parking garage, which is where car service now operates. The Collins Avenue vehicle entrance has been closed since February 2026 for the expansion works, and there is an alternate entrance further north.

Is the causeway a problem?

It can be. The short approach crosses a tolled drawbridge that opens twice an hour between eight and six. When the timing is tight we come north along the ocean road from a fixed crossing instead, which is longer and cannot be interrupted.

Can the car meet us at the aircraft?

Often, and we arrange it with the FBO in advance rather than on the day. Ramp access is a permission under the airport’s security programme and depends on the FBO and on driver vetting, so we confirm it at booking and say plainly if the answer is the lounge door instead.

Our itinerary names a resort in the village. Will you check it?

Yes, and we would rather raise it early. One of the village’s best-known resorts is closed for renovation until January 2027 and still appears on plenty of itineraries. We flag that at planning rather than at the porte-cochere.
